I’m so thrilled to introduce you to Elissa, a truly inspiring creative whose work is as bold and vibrant as her personality.
Elissa’s creative aesthetic is designed to inspire. Blending her love of quilting with a background in garment making, she creates projects that are made to stand out. Her favorite sewing methods include foundation paper piecing, machine applique, and English paper piecing — she pours her heart into every detail with precise fussy cutting and meticulous craftsmanship.
Her style is unmistakable: bold, bright, and beautiful with just the right amount of over-the-top flair. Elissa has a fearless approach to mixing color and pattern, constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity in everything she makes.
Her sewing journey began back in the spring of 2011, when she first sat down at a sewing machine to make a skirt for her oldest daughter. What started as a simple project quickly grew into a children’s custom boutique specializing in one-of-a-kind apparel. For more than a decade, she delighted families around the world with her unique designs and handmade garments.
As her children grew and her creative focus evolved, Elissa discovered a deep passion for quilting. She now channels her colorful, imaginative spirit into quilted garments, bags of all sizes, and intricately pieced quilts that showcase her signature mix of precision and playfulness.
Elissa’s mission is to inspire others to create with authenticity and passion. Whether she’s teaching a class, leading a workshop, or presenting nationally, she encourages every maker to embrace their own unique creative voice — one stitch at a time.
She is proud to be a FreeSpirit Fabrics Circle of Makers Brand Ambassador and an Aurifil Artisan, and she draws endless inspiration from her favorite fabric designer, the incomparable Tula Pink.
When she’s not in her studio, you’ll likely find Elissa cheering for her busy teens or relaxing with a good book, joined by her two pups, Max and Rudy.
